Cranfield University’s Integrated Vehicle Health Management Centre (IVHM) was established in 2008 between Boeing, Cranfield, and a number of other highly regarded aerospace companies (including BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Meggitt and Thales). The Centre is now globally recognised, having defined the subject area and developed its capability on several fronts. The development of the Centre, along with two other areas in the University, significantly contributed to the recent £65m DARTeC (Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre) proposal success. Through DARTeC, due to open in 2020, the IVHM Centre’s influence and capabilities will grow into the MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) sector and hence be assured for the foreseeable future.

We are seeking to appoint a Professor and Head of Integrated Vehicle Health Management Centre who will provide global thought leadership in IVHM research, development and education, while leading the IVHM Centre and its staff at Cranfield. It will entail understanding the current research issues, challenges and opportunities surrounding IVHM and its application areas, while simultaneously developing strategies to ensure Cranfield stays at the forefront of this exciting field.
