About these Awards

The PHM Society would like to recognize achievement in our community.

We announced in 2015 some awards that would be presented at the Annual Conference in Denver in October. This was a sponsor-supported event like past awards ceremonies.

PHM Contributor of the Year Award

  1. For significant contributions to the PHM Society by an individual or a group, over an extended period of time. The contributions could be in outreach, engagement within and across domains and sectors, and planning/operations of events or other Society roles.
  2. One award annually. Nominations need to have at least one reference letter. Recommendations will be made by the
  3. Nomination Committee to the Board of Directors by August 31 based on nominations received from January to July.
  4. Award vote by Board of Directors in September for presentation at the Annual Conference of the PHM Society.
  5. Plaque and memento for presentation by major sponsor at conference banquet.

Lifetime Achievement Award

  1. Recognition for over 25 years of significant contributions to the PHM community in one of these areas: science/engineering, technology, applications, education, management, and mentoring. Lasting impacts of innovation, creativity and leadership are to be documented and summarized in a citation paragraph.
  2. One award annually if merited. Nomination letters have to have three reference letters. Recommendations will be made by the Nomination Committee to the Board of Directors by August 31 based on nominations received from January to July.
  3. Award vote by Board in September for presentation at annual conference.
  4. Plaque, memento and certificate for presentation by major sponsor at conference banquet.

PHM Society Fellow (FPHM)

  1. Recognition for accomplished individuals with expectation for significant further contributions. Fellows will have made significant contributions to the PHM community for over 15 years from graduation. Impact of innovation, creativity and leadership must be demonstrated, preferably across domains and/or sectors.
  2. Up to 5 awards annually.
  3. Nominations need to have at least two reference letters. Recommendations will be made by the Nomination Committee to the Board of Directors by August 31 based on nominations received between January and July.
  4. Award vote by Board in September for presentation at annual conference.
  5. Plaque, lapel pin and certificate for presentation by major sponsor at conference banquet.

Nominations received by August 15, 2016 were voted on by the PHM Board of Directors. Accepted awardees are indicated in the citations above. Criteria for 2016 are to be adapted based on further discussions.
