Serdar Uckun is the CEO and Principal of Telact, LLC, a technology consulting firm. Previously, he was Founder and CEO of CyDesign Labs, an enterprise software company focusing on model-based design optimization. Prior to founding CyDesign Labs in 2011, he was Principal Scientist and Manager of the Embedded Reasoning Area at PARC. Before PARC, he was at NASA Ames Research Center where he led the largest organization in the U.S. Government focusing on PHM research. Earlier, he served as Director of the Research Institute for Advanced Computer Science (RIACS), Director of Advanced Technology at Blue Pumpkin Software, and Assistant Director of Rockwell Science Center - Palo Alto Laboratory. He has graduate degrees in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, and he has completed post-doctoral studies in Computer Science at Stanford. His technical interests include diagnosis, prognostics, and optimization. He served as Associate Editor of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Journal and the General Chair of the 2008 International Conference on PHM. Currently, he is an Associate Editor of the International Journal on Prognostics and Health Management. He is a founder and President of the PHM Society. He holds twelve U.S. patents.
